Securing grid stability and generating additional revenue
Control energy is activated in three stages:
- Primary control power stabilises the frequency in seconds,
- Secondary control power is available within a few minutes, and
- Tertiary control power is activated when the demand lasts longer than 15 minutes.
The flexibility of the plants is marketed by the means of tenders. If a bid is accepted, there is an obligation to provide the agreed volume during the marketed period. The provision and the call are rewarded accordingly.
